Characteristics

Shrub, 0.3-0.5 m, stiff, much branched; branchlets terete, red, densely clothed with ± spreading rufous bristle-like hairs. Leaves dense, ovate, apex subobtuse, base ± distinctly cordate, in other respects like var. mundula, but with scattered bristles underneath on the midrib and on the petiole. Fruit subglobose, apparently permanently white, c. 5 mm ø, fruit-pedicel 1-2 mm.
