Characteristics

Erect herb to 40 cm tall, ±viscid or varnished, with glandular and sometimes simple hairs. Basal leaves linear-terete, involute; lamina 30-60 mm long, 0.5-1.5 mm wide. Flowers in racemes to 20 cm long, or subumbels; bracts leaf-like; pedicel 20-40 mm long, erect or ascending in fruit, articulate; bracteoles absent. Sepals lanceolate, c. 3 mm long. Corolla 8-10 mm long, almost glabrous inside, without enations, auriculate; abaxial lobes 2-3.5 mm long; wings 0.3-0.8 mm wide, narrower above auricle. Indusium depressed-ovate, 1-1.5 mm long. Ovules 30-35. Fruit ovoid-globular, usually ±compressed, 4-6 mm diam. Seeds orbicular, 3.5-4 mm wide, colliculate, grey-brown to black; wing c. 1 mm wide, whitish.
