Characteristics

Annual or ephemeral herb to 40 cm tall, with soft, glandular hairs and simple hairs; roots mostly adventitious. Leaves obovate to lanceolate, dentate, thin; lamina 20-50 mm long, 6-20 mm wide. Flowers in racemes to 30 cm long; bracts narrowly elliptic, to 3 mm long; peduncle 2-5 mm long; bracteoles narrowly elliptic, 2 mm long; pedicel resembling peduncle. Sepals narrowly ovate, 1.5 mm long, 0.7 mm wide. Corolla 5-8 mm long, without enations, auriculate; abaxial lobes c. 3 mm long; wings 0.8 mm wide, unequal on adaxial lobes. Indusium oblong, 11 mm long, villous basally, concave. Ovules many, scattered. Fruit ellipsoidal, 3-4 mm long, 1.5 mm wide; valves usually entire. Seeds brown.
