Characteristics

Erect, slightly woody subshrub to 50 cm tall, viscid, glandular-hairy; root a tap root. Leaves cauline, linear to narrowly elliptic, dentate or narrowly lobed; lamina 4-8 cm long, 1-2.5 mm wide. Flowers in racemes to 35 cm long; bracts leaf-like, not exceeding the flower; peduncle to 18 mm long; bracteoles linear, 3-8 mm long; pedicel 2-4 mm long. Sepals narrowly deltoid, 1-1.5 mm long, 0.3-0.5 mm wide. Corolla 10-12 mm long, without enations, auricle indistinct; abaxial lobes 5-6 mm long; wings c. 1 mm wide. Indusium broadly ovate, folded, with a few long hairs towards base. Ovules many, scattered. Fruit cylindrical, 8-10 mm long; valves bifid. Seeds brown.
