Characteristics

Erect shrub to 1.5 m tall, viscid, with long and short, glandular hairs but few simple hairs. Leaves lyrato-pinnatifid; terminal lamina 2-4 cm long, 1-2.5 cm wide; petiole 3-7 cm long. Flowers in racemes or thyrses to 12 cm long; bracts leaf-like; peduncle 3-10 mm long; bracteoles linear to oblanceolate, pinnatifid, 5-10 mm long; pedicel 15-20 mm long, articulate. Sepals lanceolate, 4-5 mm long. Corolla 25-30 mm long, villous inside towards base, with enations, not auriculate; abaxial lobes 14-16 mm long; wings 3-4 mm wide. Indusium depressed-ovate. Ovules to 50. Fruit ovoid, 8 mm long; valves ±bifid. Only immature seeds seen.
