Characteristics

Undershrub to c. 1 m tall, glandular-viscid; stems woody, thick, decumbent. Leaves usually ±clustered at base, oblanceolate to obovate, dentate, pubescent; lamina 8-11 cm long, 3-4 cm wide. Flowers in terminal thyrses to 40 cm long; bracts ovate, broader and smaller than leaves; peduncle to 2 cm long; bracteoles ovate-elliptic, 6-14 mm long; pedicel to 5 mm long. Sepals lanceolate, c. 3 mm long. Corolla 15-20 mm long, stiffly hairy inside, enations prominent, auricles indistinct; lobes unequal, abaxial c. 4 mm long; wings c. 2 mm wide. Indusium oblong, 2 mm long. Ovules c. 40. Fruit ±cylindrical, c. 1 cm long, entire. Mature seeds not seen.
