Characteristics

Erect to ascending herb, virgate, to 40 cm tall, with sparse, coarse hairs. Basal leaves flat or incurved towards top, linear to oblanceolate, dentate or entire, ±thick, with lamina 1-6 cm long, 1-4 mm wide; cauline leaves smaller, involute, usually linear. Flowers in racemes to 18 cm long, or subumbels; bracts leaf-like; pedicel 15-25 mm long, articulate; bracteoles absent. Sepals linear-lanceolate, 1.5-2 mm long. Corolla 8-12 mm long, with few hairs towards base inside, without enations, auriculate; abaxial lobes 4-5 mm long; wings c. 1.5 mm wide. Indusium broadly oblong, 1.5 mm long. Ovules 6-12. Fruit globular, 7 mm diam. Seeds orbicular, c. 2.5 mm diam., colliculate, grey; wing c. 0.8 mm wide, greyish.
