Characteristics

Undershrub or shrubby herb to 50 cm tall, viscid, glandular-hairy. Leaves almost sessile, linear to oblanceolate, slightly recurved, dentate; lamina 15-35 mm long, 2-7 mm wide. Flowers in racemes to 6 cm long; bracts leaf-like, oblanceolate to obovate, c. 5 mm long; peduncle 2-4 mm long; bracteoles narrowly obovate, 4-10 mm long; pedicel c. 1 mm long, not articulate. Sepals narrowly oblong, 4-5 mm long. Corolla c. 14 mm long, hairs scattered inside, with enations, indistinctly auriculate; abaxial lobes c. 5 mm long; wings to 2 mm wide. Indusium oblong. Ovules to 15. Fruit cylindrical to ovoid, 5 to 6 mm long; valves split eventually to base. Seeds elliptic, 1.8 mm long, blackish brown, aculeate.
