Characteristics

Erect herb 35 cm tall. Stems weakly 4-or 5-ribbed, glabrous or with sparse curved hairs. Leaves alternate, sessile, linear, almost pinnatifid with 6–8 long distal teeth, scabrous; lamina 20–25 mm long. Inflorescence of 1–3-flowered dichasia; lateral inflorescences in upper leaf axils; bracts lanceolate, 5–10 mm long, entire or weakly 1-or 2-toothed, green; bracteoles linear, 2–2.3 mm long, ciliate, straw-coloured. Flowers 4-merous; pedicel to 0.5 mm long. Sepals ovate, 0.9–1 mm long. Petals 2–2.2 mm long, green. Stamens 8. Ovary 2-or 3-locular, 4-ribbed, glabrous; styles 2 or 3. Fruit 1 per axil, ovoid to obpyriform, 1.8–2 mm long, 1.5–1.9 mm diam., weakly 4-ribbed, otherwise smooth or weakly rugose below, glabrous.
