Characteristics

Vine; latex clear. Leaves glabrous; petiole c. 4.5 cm long; lamina ovate to broadly elliptic, to 12 cm long, to 9.5 cm wide, cordate at base, acuminate to acute; secondary veins 4 or 5 each side of midrib and radiating from base; colleters 14–16. Inflorescence of 1 or 2 umbelliform fascicles. Flowers c. 2 mm long, 15–17 mm diam.; pedicels 2–3 cm long. Corolla flattened-campanulate, dark purple-brown; lobes c. 6 mm long, 5–6 mm wide, acuminate. Staminal coronal lobes flattened-oblong, c. 2 mm long, 1.5 mm wide, with a small central spur. Follicles not seen.
