Characteristics

Shrub or tree 1.7–20 m high; latex white to yellow in all parts; trunk 5–30 cm in diameter, wood yellow and hard.. Leaves petiolate; blade elliptic to oblong, 6.3–18.5 cm long, 1.5–5.9 cm wide, acute to obtuse at the base, apex acuminate with acumen10–18 mm long; petiole 8–18 mm long.. Inflorescence terminal or axillary, 3–3.5 cm long, 7–18(–45)-flowered; peduncle 2–14 mm long; bracts up to 1.5 mm long, with colleters within; pedicels 2–5 mm long.. Flowers with sepals with resin within, (narrowly) ovate, 0.8–1.5 mm long; corolla white or yellow, creamy pink in bud; tube 4.8–5.5 mm long; lobes narrowly ovate to oblong, 4–8 mm long, 1.5–2.8 mm wide, obtuse; stamens inserted at 3–4.7 mm from the base; pistil 3.4–4.8 mm long; ovary gradually narrowing into the style, ovules 5–6 in each carpel; style 0.8–2.1 mm long.. Fruits yellow to orange, ellipsoid to subglobose, 20–26 mm long, 11–18 mm in diameter, 1–3-seeded.
