Dorsal sepal usually recurved. Petals connivent with base of lip. Lip entire, spurred at base, flat or conduplicate, rhombic, narrowly elliptic or ovate, acute to acuminate, attenuate or constricted at the base; disc usually carinate; spur usually long, filiform, retrorse or antrorse. Column short, porrect, with 2 conspicuous stelidia and a short foot; rostellum short, emarginate; anther cucullate, truncate or retuse, not beaked; pollinia 2, globose or broadly ellipsoid, each attached by a short stipes to a large viscidium. Capsule narrowly cylindrical, dehiscing by means of a single fissure.

Tepals narrow, acute or acuminate; lip entire, usually rhombic, oblanceolate or narrowly ovate, spurred at the base, the spur usually long and slender.
Inflorescence axillary, single-flowered (rarely 2-flowered); peduncle short, ovary with a slender pedicel.
