Characteristics

Branched, succulent shrub, somewhat rambling, 200-450 mm tall. Leaves free from each other towards bases, incurved, almost cylindrical, obtuse, smooth, pale green, 20-28 mm long, 3-4 mm diam. Flowers solitary, 20-35 mm diam., pink to magenta, filamentous staminodes conically arranged. Fruit 5-locular, grey, base bell-shaped, keels parallel.

Perennial, dwarf shrublet, up to 0.8 m high, stems pale brown, branching profusely. Leaves clavate, incurved, glaucous, obtuse. Flowers solitary, ebracteate, bright pink. Flowering time Nov.-Apr. Capsules pale brown, 5-locular, covering membranes flat, expanding keels parallel, but distant, valve wings broad.
Leaves subcylindrical to trigonous. Cushion-forming shrublet to 1 x 0.8 m, stems whitish grey. Leaves cylindrical, obtuse, soft-fleshy, green, to 25 mm long. Flowers solitary, pink, stamens and staminodes in a central cone. Fruits bell-shaped below.
