Shrub 1–2 m. high, glabrous; branches flattened when young, becoming terete, smooth or faintly striate, with reddish-to greyish-brown bark.
Ovary c. 1 mm. long, subglobose to cylindric; stylar column c. 2 mm. long (in brachystylic flower); stigmas recurved spirally.
Petals 20–28 × 6–7 mm., narrowly oblong-oblanceolate, rounded at the apex; nectary depression shallow, with entire margin.
Stamens with linear filaments united below to form a shallow cup; anthers 2–3 mm. long, linear.
Flowers solitary in the axils of fallen leaves, subsessile.
Sepals 4 mm. long, lanceolate, acute.
Fruit not yet collected.
