Leaves petiolate; lamina (young) c. 4 × 1·3 cm., elliptic to oblanceolate, rounded at the apex, cuneate at the base; petiole 1·5–2 mm. long; stipules completely united, 4·5–5 mm. long, linear-lanceolate, reddish-brown, soon deciduous.

Ovary c. 1 mm. long, subglobose to cylindric; stylar column c. 2 mm. long (in brachystylic flower); stigmas recurved spirally.
Petals 20–28 × 6–7 mm., narrowly oblong-oblanceolate, rounded at the apex; nectary depression shallow, with entire margin.
Stamens with linear filaments united below to form a shallow cup; anthers 2–3 mm. long, linear.
Flowers solitary in the axils of fallen leaves, subsessile.
