Characteristics

Low to tall climber with glabrous, twining stems; latex clear. Leaves glabrous, grey to pale purplish when dried; petiole 2–5 mm long; lamina lanceolate, 3.6–4.7 cm long, 1.4–2.3 cm wide, rounded at base, recurved marginally, gradually acute at apex; secondary veins 5–8 pairs, prominent, with coarser net veins distinct or sometimes obscure. Inflorescence of axillary and terminal, short, compact panicles, usually with 7–10 flowers; axes glabrous; pedicels 2–5 mm long. Calyx lobes lanceolate, c. 1.5 mm long, appressed, glabrous. Corolla yellowish; tube 2.1 mm long, with a ring of short, retrorse, flattened hairs at throat and extending some way down inside tube; lobes erect, ovate, 1.9–2 mm long, glabrous or minutely hoary externally, glabrous internally except for a tuft of short hairs at base. Anther cone 1.6 mm long, enclosed; filaments 1 mm long, moderately twisted; tails diverging. Nectary scales free, fleshy, oblong, c. 0.8 mm long. Fruit unknown.
