Characteristics

Scrambling vine with twining stems, glabrous except inflorescences; latex clear. Leaves thin, soft to firm; petiole channelled, 10–25 mm long; lamina oblong-ovate, 6–14 cm long, 2.5–6.5 cm wide, rounded at base, shortly acuminate to a fine point or mucronate, green, ± concolorous; secondary veins 7–13 pairs, raised below, with coarser net veins distinct above. Inflorescences usually axillary, of pedunculate panicles with 8–20 flowers, much shorter than leaves; axes minutely hairy; pedicels 3–4.5 mm long, shortly hairy. Calyx lobes slender, shortly hairy, appressed. Corolla white or yellowish; tube 2–2.6 mm long; lobes spreading to semi-erect, lanceolate, 3.2–4.2 mm long, glabrous externally, with numerous retrorse hairs internally, mainly towards base. Anther cone 2.2–3 mm long, with tip exserted; filaments c. 1.2 mm long, straight; anther tails slightly divergent. Nectary scales free, c. 0.7 mm long. Capsules striate, narrowly ovoid, 11–13 cm long, 1.5–3 cm diam.
