Characteristics

Tall climber with twining stems; young stems pubescent; latex clear. Juvenile leaves linear, 6–10 cm long. Adult leaves moderately thick, firm to coriaceous, glabrous, lustrous; petiole 8–15 mm long; lamina narrowly lanceolate to ovate-lanceolate, 3.5–13 cm long, 1–4 cm wide, 3.5–6 times as long as wide, cuneate or narrowly cuneate at base, acute or acuminate at apex, pale yellowish green to fawn below; secondary veins 9–14 pairs, prominent, with fine vein reticulum not raised above. Inflorescence of loose, axillary panicles; axes fawn, minutely pubescent; pedicels 1.5–4 mm long. Calyx lobes ovate, 1.5–2 mm long, acute. Corolla yellow; tube c. 2 mm long, bearded at throat; lobes spreading to recurved, ovate to lanceolate, c. 3 mm long, minutely pubescent externally, with 4 papillose ridges internally. Anther cone 2.5–3 mm long, slightly exserted; filaments short, straight; anther tails divergent. Nectary scales connate at base, fleshy, obtuse, c. 0.5 mm long. Capsules slender, very narrowly ovoid, 5–10 cm long, 0.9–1.2 cm diam., shortly pubescent.
