Characteristics

Climber with twining stems, glabrous except on inflorescences; latex clear. Leaves thin, soft; petiole 6–12 mm long; lamina ovate-lanceolate to ovate-elliptic, 5–12 cm long, 2–5 cm wide, rounded or slightly cordate at base, long-acuminate to a fine point, green or pale brown below; secondary veins 5–8 pairs, raised and prominent below, curving out to near margin, with finer veins obscure. Inflorescence of terminal and axillary moderately open cymes, with 15–30 flowers; axes glabrous or puberulous; pedicels 1–5 mm long. Calyx lobes ovate, appressed to corolla. Corolla funnel-shaped, cream or green with red lobe apices; tube broad, c. 2.3 mm long, with 5 tufts of deflexed hairs at throat; lobes erect or ascending, ovate, c. 4 mm long, acuminate, glabrous or puberulous. Anther cone c. 2.7 mm long, partly exserted; filaments 1.3 mm long, straight; anther tails straight. Nectary scales free, thick, ovate, c. 0.8 mm long. Capsule slender, very narrowly ovoid, 10–21 cm long, 0.5–1.4 cm diam.
