Characteristics

Climber to c. 3 m high with twining, finely pubescent stems; latex clear. Leaves moderately thin, coriaceous, green; petiole 4–14 mm long, pubescent; lamina ovate to broadly oblong-ovate, 6–11 cm long, 3–6.5 cm wide, rounded or rounded-truncate at base, acute, usually apiculate, puberulous above, finely pubescent below; secondary veins 7–11 pairs, prominent, ribbed below, with medium and coarse net veins slightly raised below, conspicuous especially on lower surface. Inflorescence of axillary and terminal, many-flowered, compact panicles, much shorter than leaves; axes pubescent; pedicels 3–5 mm long. Flowers often 4-merous. Calyx lobes pubescent. Corolla yellow or greenish, glabrous inside; tube 1.5–2.7 mm long, puberulous externally; lobes ± erect, lanceolate or ovate-lanceolate, 5–6.7 mm long, with tips slightly spreading, obtuse, sparsely pubescent externally, 3-veined. Anther cone 3.4–4 mm long, usually enclosed and hidden by corolla lobes; filaments twisted; anther tails convergent. Nectary scales free, thinly fleshy, ± square, c. 0.6 mm high. Capsules unknown.
