Characteristics

Small twiner with thin finely hairy stems; latex clear. Leaves glabrous, rather thin; petiole 2–8 mm long; lamina oblong-lanceolate, elliptic or oblong-ovate, 1.5–6 cm long, 0.5–3 cm wide, cordate at base, crisped or occasionally finely toothed, shortly acuminate at apex; upper surface glossy with major veins raised; lower surface paler. Inflorescence of axillary, few-flowered, open cymes; axes puberulous; pedicels 4–6 mm long. Calyx lobes appressed, deltoid, c. 1 mm long, glabrous. Corolla cream, tinged lilac; tube cylindrical in upper half, inflated in lower half, 2.5–3 mm long, glabrous; lobes widely spreading, ovate-lanceolate, 2.5–3 mm long, apically recurved, glabrous externally, shortly pubescent internally. Anther cone 3 mm long, enclosed or tip exserted; filaments straight; anther tails divergent. Nectary scales free, narrow, thin, c. 0.7 mm long. Capsules slender, narrowly fusiform, 5–13 cm long, 0.5–1 cm diam., glabrous.
