Characteristics

Herb to 40 cm tall. Leaves obovate to elliptic, attenuate towards base, entire, tomentose; lamina 3-7 cm long, 1-3.5 cm wide. Inflorescence bracts linear-oblong, to 25 mm long; peduncles to 4 cm long; flowers almost sessile between bracteoles; bracteoles linear, to 10 mm long. Sepals oblong to elliptic, c. 1 mm long. Corolla 7-9 mm long, with glandular hairs outside and a dense tuft of white hairs in throat, yellow on wings, brownish red in throat. Indusium oblong, c. 1 mm long. Fruit 7-8 mm long and wide, including wings.
