Small erect shrubs, ca. 1 m tall; young shoots densely coarsely ferruginous-strigose. Summer and winter leaves different. Petiole 3–7 mm, densely ferruginous-strigose; leaf blade papery, oblong-lanceolate or lanceolate, 3–7(–8.5) × 0.9–2 cm; base narrowly cuneate; margin slightly revolute and entire; apex long-acuminate; abaxial surface densely tomentose and coarsely strigose; adaxial surface sparsely strigose. Inflorescence ca. 5-flowered. Pedicel ca. 0.6 cm, coarsely strigose; calyx shallowly lobed; lobes finely toothed; corolla broadly funnel-campanulate, dark blue, without flecks, 2.2–2.5 cm; tube shortly cylindric, ca. 7 × 3–6 mm; lobes spreading, obovate-oblong, 1.5–1.8 × 0.7–0.8 cm, apex ± rounded; stamens 10, unequal, 2.2–2.8 cm, filaments flat, puberulent below; ovary ovoid, ca. 4 mm, densely coarsely ferruginous silky strigose; style ca. 2.6 cm, slightly longer than corolla, but shorter than some stamens, glabrous.
