Origin: in Fargo, N.D., by A.F. Yeager, North Dakota Agr. Expt. Sta. Introd. in 1932. Ribes missouriensis × Oregon Champion; tested as N. Dak. 9. Tree: a strong grower; hardy; extremely productive. Fruit: size medium; round; skin purplish when ripe, thick, tough; borne on long stems.
