Inflorescence on short leafless lateral branches, 1.5–2.5 cm. long, or terminal on long leafy branches; pedicels 1.5–8 cm. long.. Sepals 4, lanceolate or elliptic, 2–3 cm. long, 0.8–1.5 cm. wide, ciliate.. Petals 4–8 or more, linear-oblong, 3–6 cm. long, clawed, acuminate.. Stamens many, 2–3.5 cm. long; filaments white; anthers blue or grey.. Gynophore 2.5–4 cm. long or sometimes undeveloped.. Fruits subcylindrical, up to 6 cm. long, 2.5 cm. in diameter, 4-grooved.
