Cultivation

Thorny, erect to semi-erect, floricane-fruiting, with midsize fruit. Origin: Black Venture Farm, Los Reyes, Michoacán, Mexico, by M.N. Hewstone Oliger and F.J. Morales Chavez. 1004-Z × H2P8 (both proprietary breeding selections); tested as 2000-182. Mexican PBR 2136; 27 Mar. 2019. Tree: thorns large; erect to semi-erect; leaf bud burst early; bears on floricanes. Fruit: midsize, length 36 mm, diameter 20 mm; oblong; reddish black; ripens midseason.
