Origin: in College Station, Texas, by S.H. Yarnell, Texas Agr. Expt. Sta. Introd. in 1946. Selected in 1940 from F3 of (Rubus rubrisetus × Nessberry); tested as Tex. R40-51. Tree: vigorous; resistant to little-fruit. Fruit: large; season early; resembles Mammoth.
