Darrow × Brazos; cross made in 1965 by Moore; selected in 1968; tested as Ark. 531. Tree: vigorous; erect, even in young plantings; productive; fruit borne high, well-adapted to mechanical harvest; suckers freely from root cuttings; prolific plant maker; same reaction to major diseases as Raven. Adapted throughout Arkansas. Fruit: large; skin black, attractive; flesh firm, quality high (including canned and frozen); ripens early, before Raven.
