Deciduous or evergreen, clumping, terrestrial orchids with short, crowded pseudobulbs held just below the soil surface, and coarse, spreading roots. Peduncle much longer than rachis, slender. Bracts small, stem-encircling. Flowers resupinate, moderately large, colourful. Sepals and petals similar in size and shape, broad; sepals hairy on outer surface. Labellum attached to anterior base of column (or apex of vestigial column foot), projected forwards like a landing platform. Labellum lamina 3-lobed; lateral lobes restricted to basal part of labellum; midlobe projected forwards, narrow at base, widest near apex. 2 large calli at base of midlobe. Column narrow, incurved, basal foot vestigial.
