Characteristics

Slender annual herb with persistent basal leaf rosette.. Stems ± 14 cm, unbranched except for inflorescence, stem angles smooth.. Basal rosette leaves ± elliptic, 4–10 mm long, 2–3(3.5) mm wide, obtuse, distinctly narrowed at base; cauline leaves sessile,linear to linear-lanceolate, 6–6.5 mm long, 0.5 mm wide, apex acute.. Inflorescence a few-flowered cyme; pedicels 4–20 mm long, pedicel of the terminal flower always shorter than pedicels of lateral flowers; bracteoles very narrow, linear to linear-lanceolate, ± 5 mm long, apex acute.. Flowers 4-merous.. Calyx lobes lanceolate, 3–4.2 mm long, 1–1.2 mm wide, shorter than to equalling corolla lobes, acuminate.. Corollatube very short, ± 0.6 mm long; lobes oblong, 4.2–4.5 mm long, 1.3 mm wide, obtuse; nectaries 2 per lobe, ± 0.2 mm, oblong, ± 0.5 mm apart, 0.9–1 mm from base of lobes, margin sparsely fimbriate, fimbriae ± 0.5 mm long.. Stamens with filaments ± 1 mm long; scale-like projections present at attachment point to corolla lobes; anthers oblong, 0.5–0.8 mm long.. Ovary oblong, 3–4 mm long, 1.5–2 mm diameter; style obsolete; stigma bilobed, lobes 0.3 mm long, 0.6 mm wide, obtuse, wider than long, forming a crescent-shaped rim on capsule valves; parietal placentae indistinct.. Capsule oblong, 5–5.2 mm long, 2–2.3 mm diameter.. Seeds brown or light grey, ± 0.3 mm in diameter; surface with irregular wavy lines.
