Rhizomatous perennial herb with persistent basal leaf rosette.. Stems 10–15 cm high, unbranched or densely branched from the base, creeping to erect, rooting at the nodes, stem angles smooth.. Basal rosette leaves with ± winged petiole 20–25 mmlong, blade lanceolate or elliptic-lanceolate, often appearing spatulate, 8–12 mm long, 3–5 mm wide, obtuse; cauline leaves 1 pair or sometimes lacking, sessile, blade lanceolate, 12–18 mm long, 2–3 mm wide, obtuse.. Inflorescences characteristically uniflorous, pendulous; pedicel 10–25 mm long; bracteoles lanceolate, 10–13 mm long, 2–2.2 mm wide, obtuse.. Flower 5-merous.. Calyx divided to the base; lobes oblong or lanceolate, 10–12 mm long, 4 mm wide, acute to subacute.. Corolla white, sometimes with purplish-brown median dorsal stripes; tube very short, ± 1 mm long; lobes obovate, 9–9.5(–10) mm long, (4.5–)5–5.5 mm wide, obtuse; nectary 1 per lobe, yellow, circular or ovate, 2–3 mm long, 1.8–2 mm wide, ± 2 mm from base of lobes, margins naked.. Stamens with filaments ± 4 mm long, scale-like projections absent at their attachment points to corolla lobes; anther oblong, 1–1.3 mm long.. Ovary ovoid, 4–4.5 mm long, 1.5–2.5 mm diameter; style 1–1.2 mm long; stigma bilobed, lobes 0.3–0.4 mm long, obtuse; parietal placentae indistinct.. Capsule ovoid, 6.5–7.7 mm long, 4–5 mm diameter.. Seeds brown, 1.4–1.6 mm in length, surface with broken striations or interrupted ridge-like outgrowths.
