Epiphytic orchids with relatively short stems and cord-like roots. Leaves thick, leathery. Racemes club-shaped, carrying a succession of flowers in spasmodic bursts, elongating between each flowering event. Flowers resupinate, small, short-lived. Sepals and petals free, of similar size or sepals slightly longer. Labellum immovably fixed to column base. Labellum lamina 3-lobed. Column short, without basal foot. Pollinia 2, pale yellow to orange, hard, waxy, sessile, attached via narrow stalk to large viscidium.
Mainly in rainforest, often occurring on tall emergent trees, sometimes also on isolated trees close to rainforest.
