Utricularia andongensis Welw. ex Hiern

Species

Angiosperms > Lamiales > Lentibulariaceae > Utricularia

Characteristics

Terrestrial herb.. Rhizoids and stolons capillary, few from the base of the scape.. Leaves 3–6, rosulate at the base of the scape and usually present at anthesis, linear, 3-nerved, up to 6 cm. long, 1.5–5 mm. wide.. Traps few, globose, shortly stalked, glandular, 0.8–1.1 mm. long; mouth basal; upper lip with 2 subulate appendages.. Inflorescence erect or rarely twining, 2–15(–20) cm. high; scape filiform, glabrous; flowers 1–8; scales few, similar to the bracts; bracts basifixed, ovate, acuminate, 1.5–2 mm. long, 1–3-nerved; bracteoles linear-subulate, shorter than the bracts; pedicels erect or ascending, (1–)1.5–3 times as long as the calyx, narrowly winged.. Calyx-lobes broadly ovate, 1.5–2.5 mm. long at anthesis, becoming longer and relatively broader in fruit, slightly unequal; upper acute; lower shorter, apex bidentate.. Corolla yellow, 4–10 mm. long; upper lip ± as long as the upper calyx-lobe, narrowly oblong, apex rounded, truncate or emarginate; lower lip orbicular, apex entire, emarginate or obscurely 3-crenate; palate scarcely raised, obscurely 2-gibbous; spur conical-subulate, acute, curved.. Filaments linear, slightly curved; anther-thecae subdistinct.. Ovary narrowly ovoid; stigma subsessile, lower lip truncate or rounded, upper lip smaller, truncate.. Capsule broadly oblong, dorsiventrally compressed, smaller than the calyx, dehiscing by a longitudinal abaxial slit with thickened margins in the upper half.. Seeds few, ovoid, verrucose, 0.4–0.6 mm. long; testa rather loose and corky, cells irregular, much longer than broad.
