Characteristics

Large shrub or tree, up to 5 m high. Leaves petiolate; blade elliptic to ovate, 40-300 x 25180 mm, base cuneate, apex acute to rounded, both surfaces densely pubescent to velvety; petioles 3-10 mm long. Flowers: in shortly pedunculate inflorescence > 10 mm long, buds rounded at apex; calyx lobes triangular-oblong to narrowly oblong, 1.5(-2.0) mm long; corolla lobes valvate; corolla greenish to greenish white, cream-coloured or yellowish, densely spreading hairy outside; Sep.-Apr. Fruit globose, up to 35 mm in diameter, yellowish to brown, crowned with a circular scar left by calyx.
