Characteristics

Erect shrub, branched, to 1 m tall, greyish tomentose. Leaves cauline, obovate to orbicular; lamina mostly 50-70 mm long, 10-30 mm wide. Inflorescence an interrupted spike, the clusters distant from each other; scape to 40 cm long, usually branched at base; peduncles and pedicels very short; bracts and bracteoles narrowly deltoid, mostly to 2 mm long. Corolla 8-10 mm long, tomentose outside and in throat, ±auriculate; abaxial lobes oblong, to 4 mm long; wings entire, glabrous. Ovary surface obscured by short, white tomentum, and usually with long reddish or golden jointed hairs.
