Characteristics

Perennial, densely villous-tomentose; stock short, thick; scapes to 50 cm tall. Leaves basal, elliptic to obovate; lamina to 60 mm long, to 30 mm wide. Inflorescence a loose, terminal thyrse, with scattered glandular hairs; peduncles to 50 mm long; pedicels c. 16 mm long. Bract and bracteoles linear, mostly to 2 mm long. Corolla c. 10 mm long, sparsely villous and with glandular hairs outside, ±glabrous inside; scarcely auriculate; abaxial lobes elliptic-oblong, 4-5 mm long; wings ciliate. Ovary surface visible beneath hairs.
